However, at a couple of tastings I was introduced to wines from the south of France, particularly the Rhône and Provence areas, and I fell in love. These were inexpensive, tasty, food-friendly wines that were not super complex but approachable. For years afterwards I’d recommend them to friends and family as a fun alternative to $10 Australian and Californian bottles. I think at that price point you get better quality from the casual regions of France, Spain, and Italy. I remember our first night out as a group in the beach town of Castelldefels. It took us a good hour or so to realize we had accidentally chosen a gay bar to celebrate our arrival in Spain. We were slowly finding our way around, and getting lost was usually a happy consequence. I also remember walking home early the next morning and seeing swastikas graffitied on the walls — a not-so-subtle reminder that there was still a lot to learn from my semester in Europe.
Word search puzzles are great fun for many people, but they can be quite challenging. Presented here are a few strategies that can help find all those words. The first day we had a tour of Venice and went to St Marks church ( you have to wear dresses or pants in churches) and out to dinner. So I had to dress up a little.
Despite being pretty unprepared on paper, I was feeling good and ready to take on this challenge. As you get older, you realize a lot of these things are more mental challenges than physical ones. I knew that if I pushed myself, I could do it. Mental challenges have become my favorite hobby — now I just had to get my body to follow. Plus, I was lucky enough to have a very supportive, silly, low-key group of people doing it with me. All in all, the conditions for trying and giving it my best were perfect.

In my experience, there is a visa on arrival for Filipino citizens at the international airport in Entebbe (near Kampala). But you have to have at least a 6-month valid passport and a return ticket. I checked my passport now and no expiry date was written (only date of issue) but I supposed it should be valid for 15 days – I only stayed for a few days at the Baha’i House of Worship in Kampala so I didn’t bother to ask. Confirm this with the travel agent when you get your return ticket to be sure. Better get an invitation letter (by post) indicating that your boyfriend will cover all your expenses once you get to Uganda – with supporting papers about his employment, passport copies, etc. If you’re coming from Manila, most likely you fly to Dubai, then to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) with a very brief passenger pick-up stop in Kigali (Rwanda). The flight is long and the last thing you don’t want to experience is not being allowed entry. Enjoy your stay in Uganda!
People sell grilled corn on the cob alongside every highway. It’s cheap and filling, but not terribly tasty. Several of our group will have already traveled to Europe and plan to meet us in Aix, and others will fly from the US to Marseilles, arriving on October 13 (remember that if you depart the US on the 12th, you will lose a day traveling east).
